Warning about phishing emails in the name of United Domains or yve

Handling Fraudulent Emails from yve environment

There is currently an increase in phishing emails circulating that claim to be from United Domains or yve. These emails contain fake invoices, fake contract information, or fake technical notifications designed to trick recipients into clicking on links or opening attachments.

These phishing emails are sent to yve sender addresses (accountname@yve-tool.de). Email addresses with forwarding rules set up for these sender addresses may also receive them. Participant and user email addresses are not affected.

These phishing emails use publicly available information to appear more credible. No access was gained to data stored by yve or United Domains. These emails do not originate from United Domains or yve and are intended to steal your login credentials or other sensitive information.

How to recognize such emails:
  • Typically, they contain requests for urgent action, such as paying an invoice or preventing account suspension.
  • Often, the sender's name appears legitimate, but the actual email address does not end in @united-domains.de or @yve-tool.de.
  • These emails often contain links to fake websites or attachments with purported invoices or contracts.
Recommendation:
  • Do not open attachments or click on links in suspicious emails.
  • Delete such messages immediately and block the sender.
  • Do not enter any login credentials or payment information.
If you have already entered data:
  • Change your password immediately and check if the same password is used elsewhere.
  • Also, check your accounts for unusual activity.
  • By being more vigilant and checking the sender's address, domain, and link destination, you can significantly reduce the risk of falling victim to phishing emails.
